Meteor Shower at the Motel

Kind of just an idea, but it was fun to sit down and write!

There are two parts, both of which with a little bit of development could totally be a “thing.” Obviously a rough recording – please ignore my dogs tail thumping literally right next to my phone as I was recording. This take was all in all better than the other take where I royally goofed, and certainly superior to the take where my daughter farted herself into a crying fit!

Did i nail the parameters? I mean, certainly number 3, I think number 2, but not so much number one. I was thinking about a motel down the road from me, but I can’t say that comes through!

Overall, happy to have had a guitar in my hands on and off these past 2 weeks!

Love the exquisite lil finger picking groove and the dog, 10/10.

I really loved the live-ness of this take. The sound of the dog tail thumping and the collar rustle only added to the vibe for me. Felt really honest to me, in a way that really worked.

Welcome back, bogfox. (:

Unsurprisingly, this is completely gorgeous. You’re one of my favorite guitar players ever. This is so pianistic! I wish I was an all-six-fingies kind of guy like yourself.

1:16, umm hello beautiful. This is one of those times where I can’t tell if I love that this is 90 seconds long or if I wish it were 10 minutes long. I frickin love this.

thumping tail kind of adds a cool beat to this

I loooooved what happened at second 33/34. I don’t know what chord that was but I liked it so much I went back and listened to it again

oh hey, good to see you!

0;48 to the end is incredible. So much fully composed, fully band potential

yeah i can attest that you nailed parameter 3. and parameter 2, if anyone’s going to understand it, you’re the guy. as for parameter number 1, this could easily be the score for a motel meteor shower scene. undeniably. i think it absolutely comes through. the intro section feels wide and sprawling, setting the scene. and the second section is, well, let’s just say there were tears. it’s always a joy to here your compositions and playing. even if it is just one of the first few takes. dogs and all.
