lyrics:
earthquake. i’m at home
watching the office.
schrute’s face as
i quickly weigh my options:
i could die here in
the rubble like just don darko,
or i could leap the window like
i’m escobar in narcos…
it’s remarkable how quick
we go from resourceful to
remorseful; from abundance
right to nothin; from an afro
to a cornrow.

“an amazing young man
they attended his funeral by the carload.
he was praised from bar harbor, maine,
all the way to monte carlo—
they knew that he would go far,
they never knew he’d go this far tho.”
just then, as i fear my life is ’bout to end,
the earthquake stops, i sigh,
& light this spliff up once again.

I love this. It captures so well the quick oscillation between total boredom and total anxiety that’s a fixture of life right now.

The other day I was a lil high and watching torrential rain drench and flood my street within a matter of minutes, and started imagining a world where it rained for an entire month, since getting used to long-term realities with major parameters has been a THING. When I started writing about it, it slowed down and stopped by the second line. I just said, “oh. nvm.” and laughed. Feeling that in your earthquake fantasy.

Yo also. Such confidence in the nakedness of your vocal. Absolutely love the timbre and delivery. May I borrow some of your gumption?

Big dig here, my dude. Love the bass movement. Did you perform or program it?
