This is awesome! It’s so unusual, free, and genuine. I love your vocal delivery — it’s as if you came up with the lyrics the moment you pressed record, and the lyrics are dope, which makes it all the more impressive.

Ahhhh, thanks y’all! I’m excited to get pushed to do more. I’ve written lyrics and little melodies but it’s always been aimless and to just get things out in a moment, and I played piano as a kid but never wrote anything myself.
Lyrics:
I don’t miss Rendon
Twice the porches, half the tension
Chances to work it out abound
But damn, I’m tired now, I’m tired now
Oranges, Oranges
The house paneling, Juice’s furry head
I walk straight out the house!
My room just spit me out.
The sunlight was unstoppable,
So I couldn’t keep my eyes closed

1am in the kitchen, time to listen, grifts never a question
I walk straight out the house!
The Quarter just pulled me out
Guffawing tourists rang my bell,
So I couldn’t keep my head down.
Remember the time the ghost struck?
Pulled out papers and put them up.
On top the cabinets our best stuff,
from the foretelling of the Waters.
Remember the time the sun rose?
Rolled out earlier that day than most.
Let stigma and science go,
Bathed in the warm Bayou waters.

You’ve never put a song together before this?! That’s incredible. Absolutely love your sense of melody. Realizing that’s one of the things that this assignment really highlights—and you nailed it.
