Was It A Car Or A Cat I Saw

This song is all about the catbus.

Seeing these palindromes through was way more challenging than I anticipated. All the guitars and rhythmic synths are their own palindromes. Drums too, for the most part. Vocals not so much.

Looking for feedback on

I am very quick to use electronic drums provided by Logic, but I'm curious about people's favorite drum sources/sound libraries.

Knew you’d be the one to most fully commit to the palindromes when it came to rhythm. This is so fun and bumpin’.

Chef’s kiss – like a left the club and feeling like slick silver and gold good.
Don’t know how to use drums of any kind, sorry can’t be a help there.
Great stuff, Nick.

can’t stop coming back to this one. the fucking “douku doo doo” vocals that come in at :46 are perfect.

Love the mellow vibe of the vocals together with the sexy rhythmic base. Great song to just fall into a trance.

Don’t know much about the catbus, but if the cats will be spinning this, I’m in!

that was a wild ride. loved it. I recently started downloading one-shot drum samples from Splice which is nice if you want to build a kit made out of only sounds you like.

That is a STRICT adherence to parameters, props m8

Can’t weigh in on electronic drums either but,

Pretty sure I saw a cat at the end there..

Yeah guy. Love the rhythmic synth backbone, sexy polyrhythms, and the subterranean vocals.

Head started nodding as soon as this track started and just did not stop. Addictive drums is pretty dang good for acoustic sounds. Can’t really weigh in on electronic drums. Though I look forward to checking this thread and pilfering some info myself.

ryan tell me more about Addictive Drums

It’s pretty sweet. I’m only just exiting rookie level with it. But it’s essentially a kit design (and beat programming if you’re into that sort of thing) plug-in. Just has great sounds and is easy to use. Lots of different packages available, ranging from like $150 to a few hundred buckaroos.

Yes to the immediate head nodding! I loooooovvee this vibe. Lovely on all counts, musically, vocally, production; I could live in this world for a while

ahh yes, these are the 4over3-or-whatever polyrhythms that i think served as the original foundations of our friendship over a decade ago! This is so cool.
