This is the wiki article I landed on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kane_Tanaka

Clarinet sample by Kristina Teuschler — I arranged this song in mixed meter based around 3/4 but I had a lot of fun making different synths out of the one clarinet sample and messing around with rhythm using different filters and envelopes/pitching. Got kinda carried away but this was fun! It’s a weird song!

Looking for feedback on

There are definitely spots that could use a lot of rhythmic tightening and some transitional work---wondering about sections that are *too* weird-- like, compositionally just too difficult to listen through.

Freaking love that sample and how you treated it. I think that grounding downbeat allows the stranger stuff to swirl around it in a way that definitely work! Doesn’t bug me at all. Agree with @@juliapikerthat your vocal treatment is super freaking dope. Really enjoyed myself in this space. Thanks for being here, Laura!

I love how at 1:00 the loop keeps running but your vocals stay on the grid and it feels like the ground is shifting, and then the beat comes back in at 1:06. super strong moment. and all the lyrics, calligraphy and calculations, simple and repetitive. I really like some of the stranger sections. If anything, I would consider distilling it down to your favorite parts and letting it be a slightly smaller piece if you’re worried about listenability. crazy that you landed on the oldest living person—that is awesome.

Laura i love the way you mix your vocals <3 I love the stereo movement. Also love the way you sing so quietly but it feels so present in the mix.
