Earth Tones

I think I cheated because I mixed a mountain in Montana with a lake of lava from a fantasy book I’m reading…surely there were primordial lava mountain lakes in Montana at some point in Earth’s tumultuous geological past? Much love!

Please excuse my not knowing how to use Ableton

This is super cool! Really appreciate the spacious moments when it’s just your voice and the drums.

Ableton is the best. As someone who was once a beginner and has now finally figured out why it’s the best, all I gotta say is stick with it!

Well done!

The beginning is beautiful and intriguing, but what really sold me was the “coo” at 0:59 & everything drunken and primal that followed.

Kat! WAHOO. So glad to have you clubbin. And badda boom, coming out with a banger. Funky creepy cool intro. Love the bass composition. And hey seems like you’re more than capable on the Ableton front—keep it up 🤘

Hey, this is sick. I don’t know how to use Ableton at all, but it sounds like you used it perfectly well for what you set out to create. I like the little bursts of sound at 0:28 and 2:08. Your voice is beautiful. And I like the spontaneous-seeming nature of some of the vocal moments.

Eerie and vibey- I’ve never been to Montana, so I’m on board with your interpretation! I’d love to know what lyrics you’re singing

So ethereal – I think the mix of fantasy location and a real mountain in Mountain comes through in how the tune feels both grounded and otherworldly.

Let the lava flow! Nice track. Calm but eerie.

Purists be damned, lava lake that mountain with Montana all day!

seems quite right that we tie places on earth to places in imagination. super cool track. feels like a digital lake of lava that i’m down to swim in.

I’m with @@daeclanon the legitimacy of mixing places together. Cool track! It made me feel—and this is a compliment—gently dizzy. Like the sounds were swirling around me. Spooky and transportive.

not cheating cos you ‘derived inspiration’ ! solid track, i dig the beat and spooky forest feelings
